Family Photography Devon
On Saturday I trekked over for the Vale Vets Honiton open day. It was a blue sky day sunny and warm. There was dog dancing, miniature ponies and lots of happy people with their pets of all shapes and sizes. I set up to take a selection of photographs of the event.
I was there to take a collection of photographs for the event and also to capture some of the dogs and their owners. I thought it sounded like a fun job, so why not join in the local community.
It was like attending a mini Devon County Show with tractors, ice cream, sheep show and straw flying everywhere. Relaxed family fun at it’s best. I really enjoyed meeting lots of different family pets, especially the dogs as I am a dog person, if you know what I mean. I have a Sprocker which is a Cocker crossed with a springer spaniel. My dog is completely nuts but I adore him. I met breads of Dog I ahem never even seen before, and some pooches where just so cute! I love the photo of the bull dog, full of British Pride but a softie at heart.
Of course I had to go to Nellie’s greasy spoon cafe as I was assured it is the best in the area, Tim the owner was brilliant and the bacon and egg sarnie was really the best I have had as he flipped the egg and served it over hard…perfection! I had to share that glutinous indulgence with you, if only I could create scratch and sniff photos here.
Some of these photos featured in the annual Vets calendar which goes to help raise funds for The Dogs Trust.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day.
